    Club racing is happening at NWYC throughout the year. Our most popular series is the Wednesday Night Series, which runs April through September. All of our club races are intended to be a fun way for all NWYC’s members to participate in club sailing.

  • YOUTH SAILING

    Northwest Yacht Club is pleased to announce that Chicago Sail Camp is coming to Hamilton Creek Marina for summer 2016. NWYC is dedicated to promoting the sport of sailing and we are excited to introduce more sailing opportunities to young people. The sail camp is made possible through a partnership with Leadership Academy, a professional camp operations company, who is providing quality instruction, boats to learn on and handling camp management. The camps are open to all children ages 8-15.

    SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

    Northwest Yacht Club enjoys not just great cruises/races but many fun social events. Making full use of our new clubhouse, we celebrate holidays like New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day, Cinco De Mayo, and Christmas with dinners, Ladies Luncheons and an Auction. We honor our Officers with themed Formal and Costume Balls that include excellent meals, beautiful decor and great local bands for dancing. On a monthly basis, we join together for a casual pot-luck dinner and also for a General Meeting preceded by a social hour and dinner.

  • CLASSES

    OUr purpose is to introduce sailing in a brief, practical, step-by-step course that includes: personal reading of the designated text book, classroom instruction, and on the water instruction. While designed for the novice, club members who want to brush up on the basics of sailing are also welcome to participate.
